We've modified a few of our favorite pictures for using as a backdrop on your computer screen. These are better than our web gallery slideshows as they've been cropped to fit on your 100% of your PC screen, and they are high resolution and quality. To load a file onto your screen wallpaper or backdrop, first view the file you want by selecting the file size link. If you don't know which size you need, figure out your AR (aspect ratio, width divided by height) from the list below or just pick normal. After the file loads, right click in the window and select "Set as backdrop" (Internet Explorer) or "Set as Wallpaper" and stretch. (Netscape or Firefox). Aspect ratios marked with an '*' are listed for reference only, and are usually not available.

Panoramas are several pictures that have been stitched together. They are spectacular wide-angle views that are hard to achieve with a single photo. Select a thumbnail below in the file column to view the image. To save space, our panoramas have been reduced in size and quality. The originals make wonderful prints up to large poster sizes. If you wish to print one, please contact the owner for a copy of the file for best results.
Our top rated (3+) panoramas are listed here. The full set of 29 panoramas can be seen in our panorama photo listing or in the daily photos
The dimensions describe the size of the picture in megapixels (MP) followed by pixel width x pixel height. The AR or Aspect Ration is the width divided by the height. The larger the number, the wider the picture is. The rating is 1-5 stars (*), with ***** being our best pictures. They're rated by the owner.
We've taken several short video clips. Video is a great way to show a landscape, capture the sounds of wildlife, and the merriment of friends. Each of these video clips is short in length, and has been saved as a windows .wmv file. You should be able to stream play the file without having to download the whole thing before watching it. Note these files are large and may slow down your internet connection a bit while playing.
Video backdrops are normal videos that can are meant to be played in your desktop background like normal static backdrops. You can also play them as normal movies, though they tend to be a bit subtle to avoid distracting you as they play all day long. The capability to have video backdrops is built in to Microsoft Vista Ultimate [called DreamScene] and Macintosh systems. Other operating systems [such as Windows XP] may need special programs to use video backdrops on your desktop background.
